ACT One Learning Corp. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our users, learners, clients, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws in British Columbia and Alberta.

 

By accessing our website, enrolling in our programs, or using our services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What Is Personal Information

Personal information means any information that can identify an individual, including but not limited to:

  • Phone number

  • Mailing address

  • Payment and billing information

  • Login credentials

  • Course progress and certification records

  • Communication history

We collect personal information for the following purposes:

  • To deliver and manage educational services

  • To create and administer user accounts

  • To process payments and issue receipts

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

ACT One Learning does not sell personal information. Personal information may be shared only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers who support our operations, such as IT services, hosting providers, payment processors, learning management systems, and communication platforms

  • With content and certification partners, including Blanchard, Wiley, and Priority, where necessary to deliver training programs, manage enrollments, issue certifications, or meet reporting obligations

  • When required by law or legal process

  • To protect our legal rights, users, or system security

  • In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, restructuring, or asset transfer

All third-party service providers and partners are contractually required to protect personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy laws and to use such information only for authorized purposes.

6. Data Storage & International Transfers

ACT One Learning stores all personal information electronically within Microsoft 365 data centres located in Canada. Personal information is not stored outside of Canada.

Limited technical processing related to security monitoring, threat detection, and system performance may occur through automated systems operated by our service providers. ACT One Learning remains accountable for all personal information under its control and ensures appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards are in place in accordance with Canadian privacy laws.

7. Security Safeguards

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including:

  • Secure servers

  • Encrypted transactions

  • Restricted internal access

  • Regular system monitoring

Despite these safeguards, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

8. Retention of Information

ACT One Learning retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to meet legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

In most cases, personal information is retained for a period of up to seven (7) years. Once this retention period has expired, information is securely destroyed, deleted, or anonymized in accordance with industry best practices.

Under Canadian privacy laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal information

  • Request corrections

  • Withdraw consent

  • Ask how your data is used

  • File a privacy complaint

Our services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If such information is discovered, it will be deleted immediately.
